UK Student Finds Second Home Through Education Abroad
Studying through the International Study Abroad program (ISA) throughout the spring 2012 semester, JR Leach is taking five courses abroad through the Universidad de Granada, advancing his fluency in Spanish and discovered a "new home."

Guest Writer Ignacio Martínez de Pisón awarded the Premio de la Crítica while at this year's KFLC

Ignacio Martínez de Pisón, a guest writer at this year's Kentucky Foreign Language Conference, won the prestigious Premio de la Crítica for his novel El día de mañana. The conference, an internationally esteemed colloquium for scholars of language, literature and culture, begins Thursday, April 19, across the UK campus.

Challenge to the Production of Indigenous Knowledge


The Latin American Studies Program at the University of Kentucky presents a conference by Joanne Rappaport, Professor in the Department of Anthropology and Department of Spanish and Portuguese Georgetown University entitled "Challenges to the Production of Indigenous Knowledge"

The talk will take place on Wednesday March 7th at 3:00p.m. in the Niles Gallery in the Fine Arts Library.

Joanne Rappaport received a Ph.D. in sociocultural anthropology from the University of Illinois-Urbana Champaign in 1982. Her interests include ethnicity, historical anthropology, new social movements, literacy, race, and Andean ethnography and ethnohistory.
