We wish to thank our friends and colleagues who have helped to support the initiatives of the Department of Hispanic Studies at UK over the years. Their gifts have been used to help us maintain our high standards of language and cultural education, as well as support graduate and undergraduate students of Spanish to further their academic experience. John Keller awards a recurring cash prize to the student who receives the Keller Award. This year the prize was awarded to Michelle Dumais.

Jane Pratt (B.A.1991) and her husband Randy Pratt, Director of Development for the College of Business and Economics, have made a recurring annual donation to the Department.

Ruth Sánchez Imizcoz (M.A. 1989), Professor of Spanish at the University of the South, Sewanee, TN, has made a generous donation to the General Department Fund.

Thomas F. Whayne, Jr., M.D., Ph.D., Cardiology, Department of Internal Medicine, has made another generous donation to the General Department Fund. Dr. Whayne has delivered fifty six talks in his field in the Spanish-speaking world and published eleven articles in Spanish. He continues to participate in departmental activities.
