SCHOLARSHIPS & AWARDS
The Department of Hispanic Studies awards annually the Zembrod Award to students who will have junior status at the time of taking up the award. The award, up to $750.00, is to be used towards study abroad in a Spanish-speaking country (plans to be approved by the Department of Hispanic Studies).

•Sigma Delta Pi Scholarships
Members of Sigma Delta Pi are eligible to apply for scholarships. For further information, contact Dr. Alan Brown (contact information listed above).
Education Abroad at UK in partnership with Sol Education Abroad offers scholarships for Semesters, Winter Break, and Summer programs.

- must be a Hispanic Studies Major or Minor
- must be enrolled in one of the following programs:
UK Partner: University of Belgrano - Classes with Locals, Spanish Language, and Electives (Sol)
UK Partner: University of Belgrano - Intensive Spanish Language (Sol)
UK Partner: University of Belgrano - Intensive Spanish Language and Electives (Sol)
Award Amount: (The amount of the scholarship is automatically deducted from the SOL program fee)
1 - $750 for a fall semester
1 - $750 for a spring semester
1 - $250 for winter break programs
2 - $250 for summer programs
Application: Limited number of scholarships are available. Selection is made in consultation with Sol Education Abroad.

UK International Center
UK Education Abroad is proud to announce the Meredith Leigh Buscher Memorial Scholarship, sponsored by James F. Buscher and his family, for qualified students participating in Education Abroad credit-bearing international programs. The deadline to apply is March 1st for Fall programs and October 1st for Spring programs. To be eligible for the Meredith Leigh Buscher Memorial Scholarship, you must also have a program application on file in "Accepted" status. This scholarship is available for full-time undergraduate students of any major or discipline currently enrolled at the University of Kentucky participating in credit bearing, semester-long Spanish language and culture education abroad program in South or Central America. Preference will be given to those students studying Spanish language.
The deadline to apply is March 1st for Fall programs and October 1st for Spring programs.
